Here at Gutsy Ferments, we make all our own products. The exception to this is our range of Bone Broth products. This quality product is made by the wonderful people at Best of the Bone, who make what we believe is one of the finest bone broths available in Australia.
The secret of their success is the outstanding quality of the broth’s ingredients, the care and time they take in cooking the broth, their passion for making the best and the attention to detail.
As the Best of the Bone people state on their website, bone broths are:
“One of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet and the richest bone broths in terms of gut, joint, brain, skin and bone benefits. From certified and audited grass-fed bones - via the planet's only government audited grass-fed program (MPI of New Zealand). This is NOT a denatured powder, but a complete bone broth.”

The product range
We stock a range of bone broth to suit all tastes. All are characterised by their high-quality products, containing no preservatives or added flavourings.
Made from simply grass-fed certified organic Australian and NZ beef leg bone and evaporated sea salt, this concentrate is great for those on Ketogenic, Paleo and FODMAP diets.
Essentially liquid bones, the concentrate is cooked for over 50 hours and contains cartilage, collagen, essential amino acids, proteins and minerals.
Organic lion’s mane, reishi and shiitake mushrooms are combined with pure, multi-collagen protein to create this protein-rich hydrolysed powder. The process breaks down the protein particles into smaller ones to allow easier absorption into the bloodstream.
All the goodness of the concentrated bone broth but with turmeric, ginger and black pepper added. (All organic). This delicious bone broth concentrate makes a wonderful and healthy cup of tea or coffee, or used in soups, stews, sauces and gravy recipes.
Ingredients: Grass-fed certified organic Australian and NZ beef leg bone, organic turmeric, organic ginger, organic black pepper, evaporated sea salt.
What makes the range special?
Bone broth contains bones and marrow which contain collagen. It is this essential ingredient of the broths and powders that make the range so special. Collagen is a combination of nineteen amino acids and is one of the main building blocks for skin, bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Unfortunately it’s hard to obtain in the diet, even for meat lovers. That’s where drinking collagen-rich foods such as bone broth is so healthy.
Benefits of the product range
The collagen in our bodies is found in our skin, blood, bones muscles, tendons and the digestive system. It helps our skin retain its elasticity, particularly as we age, and is described as the “glue” that keeps our joints and tendons healthy.
Unfortunately, collagen becomes more depleted over time and other poor lifestyle choices — such as smoking, eating a high sugar diet and too much exposure to the sun — may accelerate this depletion.
Consuming collagen-rich foods, such as bone broth, may help provide the necessary rich proteins to help boost collagen levels.
Bone broth is not just a rich source of protein though. It also contains vitamins such as Vitamin K and A, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and a range of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, sodium and silicon.
How to use bone broth
Liquid bone broth can simply be warmed and sipped, much like a cup of tea! You may also add extra flavours such as lemon or ginger to the bone broth.
All bone broths may be used as a base for gravy, soups, stews, stir-fries and braises. Bone broth is so versatile, you can even use bone broths instead of water in your cooking.
Why not try using a few teaspoons of bone broth when you cook rice, then add one (or more) of our range of fermented foods such as sauerkraut or kimchi to toss through in a stir-fry.
